Secure chat
Chatting is a widely-used and very popular internet technology, unfortunately it is not considered to be very secure due to the fact, that it has no encryption. This results in a huge number of fake accounts. Many internet users get their systems infected with malware like trojan horses using an exploit of the chat program. Chatting then no longer means fun but frustration.
The Institute for Internet Security already engaged in a secure chat. In line with her bachelor thesis, Kathrin Meynert developed a chat for information centres that fulfils the following security requirements:
- Encryption
- Secure passwords
- Simple java scripts
- Chatting without additional plug-ins.
On basis of that technology Svenja Wendler developed a chat for out-of-court mediations: The Mediation chat.
You want to improve your website with a chat? Cooperate with us! Please check the following link for further information: Cooperation.
The technology used is called Pushlet-Technology. Pushlets are servlets which establish a permanent http connection between the web server and the internet user via JavaScript. By the help of that technique the server is able to recognize which messages have been sent to a chat participant.
