Nearly 70 percent of the German population has access to the internet. Nevertheless most of the users are still barely interested in internet security.
Despite the ubiquity of cyber crime and hacking attacks, too many users are surfing the web carelessly and abandon the security of using a Firewall or Anti Virus Kit.
Every connection to the internet bears the risk of being attacked and observed.
In most cases even simple and essential security updates aren’t performed at all or just intermittent, making it much easier for hackers to access foreign computers.

The institute for internet security has the aim to sensitize internet users in terms of security risks and to make users aware of technical problems that come along with surfing the World Wide Web.

Customized Workshops for your company

In the beginning there was the idea to use the scientific competence of the institute on public events like fairs or lectures to sensitize the public for a security-aware use of the internet. Many public requests encouraged us to offer customized Workshops for companies and public institutions.

During the Live-Hackings/Awareness Performances our experts point out potential security leaks and demonstrate how attackers can exploit them. They also demonstrate how to easily access alleged secure data on foreign systems.
Passwords are spied out, E-Mails are read along and phone calls are tapped. There are various options to access secret data unauthorized, even for novices. But the best way to provide for a risk is to know and understand potential threats.

Our moderated Live-Hacking/Awareness Performance – Workshops mediate in a playful way what security risks have to be faced when using the internet.
These presentations are topic related and enhanced by appropriate training contents.
Our aim is to improve the security awareness of all participants by persistent impressions and to mediate essential knowledge for a continuously and responsible use of new technologies.
